Started from the Bay, now we here

Hailing from Thunder Bay, and calling Toronto home since 2012, after a brief stint in Brockville studying musical theatre, Hools has thrown so much at the wall, and some of it has actually stuck.

Hools started performing at the age of 5 in their school choir and could never let go of the bug. They performed in more musicals than counted on their hands before the age of 18, and started their own company [dead name]Would Productions to continue their art in a bigger city.

Their old company produced a three year long monthly show called Acoustic Comedy at the Social Capital Theatre, and a 6x18 web series called Female Therapy, as well as two Toronto Fringe shows Getting Odd (2016) & Drink of Choice (2019)

Always and forever from the heart

Using their voice and lived experiences, they have taken the vast need for asexual content from an authentic voice from the stage with Drink of Choice to the multiple versions of Aced It.

Aced It began as a way to further connect with a community feeling sorely underrepresented. Over the pandemic, Aced It ran for four months on a now debunked station called Alphabet Radio in the UK, which allowed Hools to expand their voice outside of Canada. In 2022, Hools was able to fully fund their short film version of Aced It which ran in 9 festivals worldwide. And in 2024, Aced It received the IPF/CMF development and production fund, and is currently in a partnership with Longhope Media being shopped around.
